Historical Overview

Founded by Alfonso Carrero, NAYSA began operations with a diverse fleet that included a Lear 35, multiple Piper Navajo Chieftains, and other aircraft models. The airline was among the first in Europe to operate as a commuter airline, initiating regular services between the Canary Islands and the Spanish Sahara, as well as linking Madrid Barajas with smaller airports across Spain. In 2018, NAYSA merged its operations with Binter Canarias, marking the end of its independent services.

Post-Merger Developments

Following the merger with Binter Canarias in 2018, NAYSA’s operations were integrated into Binter’s services. In 2022, Naysa Servicios Aéreos was established, reviving the NAYSA brand. The new entity obtained its air operator certificate in July 2023 and commenced operations, focusing on wet lease arrangements and operating inter-island flights in the Canary Islands using ATR-72 aircraft.
